Country Garden Design in Toys Hill
Country Garden Design in Toys Hill surrounds a Kentish ragstone cottage and now has a more prominent frontage using wider steps; a block-paved drive to tone with the ragstone of the house and all areas have been softened with planting. The large paved terraces provide two seating and entertaining areas with different views of the garden and surrounding countryside. A wooden pergola with beds was added to give height and screening of an adjacent property.
A native hedge was added to the front of the property and included field maple, dog rose, hawthorn and blackthorn, sloe to be more sympathetic to the surrounding countryside setting. Other evergreen hedges were added within the garden to give all year round colour, texture and interest. Three metre high Pleached crab apples provide wonderful spring flowers followed in autumn with colourful red fruits. An area for the children to play was created on the other side of the property and mainly laid to lawn.
