Large Country House Garden Design in Horsmonden
Large Country House Garden Design in Horsmonden with a swimming pool that was isolated and disconnected from the rest of the garden. To create a link between the pool and the garden a series of smaller areas were designed and connected by a planted walkway, under a wooden pergola covered in Clematis and Roses to give colour and scent as one passed below.
A paved circular seating area was included with a central stone water feature adjacent to the pool and connected to it by a wrought iron gate. This was softened with plantings of box, Salvia,Veronicastrum and Iris. Herbs were added to an unused part of a walled garden leading from the walkway, a particularly sunny part of the garden, ideal for growing herbs. A trompe d’oeil was place on one of the walls in the form of an open window, giving the illusion of another room beyond. The colours of the existing mature trees and shrubs in the garden were echoed in new plantings so providing cohesion throughout the grounds.
