Vertically Challenged Garden, Sevenoaks, Kent

Vertically challenged garden, Sevenoaks, Kent was one of our most difficult projects to date.  A series of terraces were constructed using Gabions filled with grey Irish Quartz walling stones.  Grey sandstone steps and random paving were used together with red brick walls to complement the house and as a contrast to the grey stone.  The different plant colours, textures and forms contrast well with the walling stones and once established the planting will soften the hard lines of the gabion walls.  The plants were a mix of shrubs, grasses, perennials and bulbs with copper and green beech hedges both on the boundaries and within the main structure of the garden.  A large paved seating area was located at the bottom of the garden giving views up the garden towards the house and the planted terraces.

I am very happy with the professional service provided by Ornellas Garden Designs.  From start to finish Sarah was always helpful and knowledgeable in guiding me through the whole process.  She showed great attention to detail and was always happy to answer questions and come up with ideas and a solution.  My garden looks fantastic and I can’t wait to see it come to fruition in the summer.
